Whilst we were exploring the area, we noticed that many people are constantly moving in and out of the area, with a high percentage living in rented accomodation.

 

This may mean that some of them are not as connected to society, with weak social bonds.

 

Further problems showing a reluctance to care about the environment include: Rubbish, broken windows and unremoved damaged vehicles.

 

According to broken windows theory, if the damage remains unfixed people within the community may then become scared of going out (Wilson and Kelling, 1982).
